It’s especially important to keep your bedrooms low-tox because it’s the place where your body does its deepest repair work.

You spend roughly one-third of your life in your bedroom. During sleep, your body repairs tissues, balances hormones, and detoxifies. If the air, fabrics, or surfaces around you are releasing volatile VOCs, flame retardants, or synthetic fragrances, your body is burdened with constant exposure instead of resting and healing.
Paints, pressed-wood furniture, mattresses, or cleaning sprays can slowly off-gas chemicals that get trapped in this smaller space. Because breathing slows and deepens at night, your exposure per breath can actually be higher while sleeping.

-
Wash bedding weekly in hot water; vacuum to minimize allergens and toxins that cling to dust
-
Use low or zero-VOC paints, stains, and sealants
-
Add a few indoor plants for a natural air purifier (snake plant, peace lily, pothos are great choices)
-
Keep phones, Wi-Fi routers, and chargers away from your bed to reduce EMF exposure- unplug any unnecessary electronics
