Let’s break it down:

Clean water is the foundation of good health. Every cell in your body relies on water for hydration, nutrient delivery, and detoxification. When water contains contaminants like lead, pesticides, or bacteria, it can strain your immune system, disrupt hormones, and increase the risk of chronic disease. Providing your family with safe, high-quality water helps protect developing brains, support healthy digestion, and keep inflammation in check making it one of the simplest, most powerful steps toward a healthier home.

The gentle truth:

Water quality is critical for health because it directly affects nearly every system in the body. Clean water supports hydration, digestion, circulation, temperature regulation, and detoxification. Contaminated water, on the other hand, can carry pathogens (like bacteria, viruses, and parasites) that cause illness. It can also contain harmful chemicals—like lead, pesticides, or PFAS—that build up in the body over time and increase risks for developmental delays, hormonal disruption, kidney damage, and cancer.

Choose with care:

AquaTru multi-stage purification (including RO + carbon + VOC filter) uses a 4-stage “Ultra Reverse Osmosis” process, combining mechanical pre-filtration, activated carbon, a reverse osmosis membrane, and a final VOC carbon block for an under-sink powerhouse water purification system. This layered approach helps it remove a broad spectrum of contaminants (inorganics, heavy metals, organics, chlorine, etc.) that simpler filters (e.g. only carbon) often miss. AquaTru claims removal of up to 99% of many harmful substances, including lead, PFAS, chlorine, fluoride, microplastics, and pharmaceutical residues. It is independently certified for a number of contaminant reductions over the lifetime of its filters.

What you'll love:

Great tasting safe water! I recommend include an “alkaline” or filter that adds small amounts of minerals (e.g. calcium, magnesium) back so the final product is not totally “dead” RO water. This gives a more balanced taste and add back in vital nutrients for the body.

What to consider:

Be mindful of filter replacement costs every 6-12 months which run $25 to $55 each. Bundle multiple filters for significant savings and use permanent marker to write the date of installation on each filter unit. They also manufacture countertop units but the filtration is quite slow.
